We play every Monday evening from 19:00 to 22:45 at the Herman Wesselink College, Startbaan 3 in Amstelveen.

Who are we?

Tyche is a non-commercial board game club based in Amstelveen, The Netherlands.

Tyche currently plays almost every Monday night in the teachers’ lounge of the Herman Wesselink College (HWC). With a few exceptions due to special school activities or Easter and Pentecost.

Summer Break 2025

Tyche will also be playing during the summer break (July 12th to August 24th) on Monday evenings at Herman Wesselink College. Generally, from 7:00 PM to 10:45 PM, unless otherwise communicated.

It’s helpful to let us know you’re coming (you can simply email us). And make sure you arrive by 7:00 PM. That way, someone can let you in and show you the way.

History

Tyche is an initiative started by Uilenstede residents who noticed that there is a lot to do in the Amsterdam / Amstelveen area for people who want more than just studying or working. There are sports clubs, entertainment venues, and places where you can take creative courses. Unfortunately, there were almost no board game clubs.

Yes, if you played Magic or another popular game, you could often find a place. However, if you just wanted to play a game with (new) people, were looking for fellow players for Catan, wanted to try out a new game (before possibly buying it), or had made something yourself that you wanted to try out, there was nowhere to go.
